Renal Epithelioid Angiomyolipoma: Successfully Treated With Chemotherapy
نویسندگان
چکیده
Renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma (REA) is a rare mesenchymal tumor. The primary choice of treatment is local treatments. There is no consensus about adjuvant treatment. Doxorubicine, dacarbazine, ifosfamide, cyclophosphamide and cisplatin were shown to be effective in some case reports We present a metastatic renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma case that was treated with doxorubicin in the first line and combination of cisplatin and dacarbazine therapies in the second line. Best response to these two regimens was stable disease. First choice of therapy is surgery if feasible. We did not get clinical response with doxorubicin, cisplatin, and dacarbazine. Therefore, we need new agents for treating these patients.

Characteristic Enhancement Patterns of Renal Epithelioid Angiomyolipoma: a case report and literature review
We present a case of renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma in a 42-year-old woman with diabetic nephropathy for two years. Ultrasonography revealed a right renal mass in the patient. Further imaging could not confirm the nature of the mass, which grew noticeably over the course of 4 months. The mass was treated with right radical nephrectomy and diagnosed as renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma. Charact...

With a clinical and radiological diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma, radical nephrectomy was done. Histopathological examination revealed a neoplasm composed purely of epithelioid cells. Based on histopathologi...

INTRODUCTION Typical angiomyolipoma (AML) is a benign neoplasm, which consists of a mixture of smooth muscle, fat, abnormal blood vessels, and perivascular epithelioid cells, the latter of which have been described to be present in varying proportions. Recent reports have described renal masses comprised almost entirely of perivascular epithelioid cells and have designated them as “monotypic ep...
متن کاملA Four-Year Follow-up Study of Renal Epithelioid Angiomyolipoma: A Multi-Center Experience and Literature Review
In this study, we systematically explored the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of renal epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML) retrospectively by analyzing data of 52 patients diagnosed with EAML at four centers. Our results showed that the onset of EAML was usually inconspicuous, and so no obvious symptoms or signs had occurred in most patients at diagnosis. Its diagnose...

Angiomyolipoma (AML) is a type of tumor in the perivascular epithelioid cell neoplasm (PEComa) family. Epithelioid angiomyolipoma (EAML), having malignant potential, is considered a rare variant of angiomyolipoma. The most common site of EAMLs is kidney, and extra-renal EAMLs are very uncommon, with liver being the most common site.1 Other locations including retroperitoneum, uterus, liver, lun...
